Surprisingly nice food at Gokul

Gokul

Place: Colaba, behind The Taj Hotel.

Food:
  - 5/10
Menu variety:   - 4/10
Service: - 1/10
Ambience:   - 3/10
VFM:   - 5/10

We went to Gokul for a few beers after watching an IPL match coz Leopold's and Mondegar's were packed and Gokul is also cheap! We'd decided to go to Bade Miya's for food later.

Food
Actually, we didn't order much coz we were focusing on the beers. But we did call for some chicken chilly and fish fry. The chicken was okay...not as soft as I like it. But the fish was brilliant! And they have this amazing green chutney that is to die for! My mouth is watering as I think about it!

Menu variety
Normal cheap restaurant menu. Indian and Chinese items. Nothing great.

Service
Like Bade Miya, bad service. We had to keep calling for a waiter and somebody finally came to take our order.

Ambience
Too noisy and too much people density! Tables are close to each other and seating is generally cramped. Not the best place you'd want to go to!

Value for money
A pitcher of beer that serves 6 people costs Rs. 300. I say great VFM!

And in conclusion...
If you're looking for cheap booze after a long day at work in the south-most tip of Bombay, go here for a nice, non-fancy round of beer. It's good for a group of 4 or more. Cheers!
