Service: - 6/10
Ambience: - 5/10
VFM: - 3/10Food
Let's start with the drinks. This place does not serve alcoholic beverages, so me and my friend ordered for a fresh lime juice and lemon iced tea. The lemon iced tea could have been colder and a little lesser tea. Basically, some more ice was in order! The food - oh god the food! To go along with the drinks, we ordered for fish and chips. I think they were using the preprocessed frozen fish fillets you get from any cold storage and fried them for us. And even then, the two measly pieces of fish (really really small!) weren't fried well! We make fish fillet sandwiches at home and we do it better! And to top it all, the fish didn't seem very fresh. God knows how long it was in the freezer. My friend is a big fan of french fries and he thought they were overdone (I'm not an expert on these).
So we thought that the place is meant for sizzlers...and so we wouldn't judge it on the starters. We ordered for two Chef's Steak Special, because it was the only Steak sizzler that would include cheese, babycorn and mushrooms. My friend ordered for it on a normal plate while I asked for it on a sizzling plate. We told the waiter three times that we wanted them both medium-rare, but they both came well done. The chef needs to know how to cook steak.
Menu variety
Zero points for originality. The entire menu is practically lifted from Yoko's. I give it three points because Yoko's menu is good!
Service
The waiter was nice and friendly. Each sizzler comes with either rice or noodles (don't like this funda), but the waiter let us both opt for mashed potatoes instead. He even asked us if we wanted more sauce and got us extra bowls. He kept smiling all the time. I think part of it was because he seemed tickled by the fact that none of us wanted rice or noodles!
Ambience
For a Sunday afternoon, we were the only ones occupying a table at the restaurant. The place seems to be doomed. The place looks like a nice homely restaurant, but nothing great going on with the decor.
Value for money
With rates at the same range as Yoko's and Kobe's, the place is really disappointing. If you want good sizzlers, stick to Yoko's (Kobe's comes a close second).
And in conclusion....
No! No! No! Don't go!
