This is my first review where every parameter has a 5 rating. Big round of applause to Kurry Leaf for winning the Jaldi 5!!!

Food

We had ordered for a Chicken Caesar salad to begin with, and although it was not bad, the chicken pieces were sometimes bitter due to over-grilling and it could've done with more sprinkling of parmesan. This was followed by main course - one Nasi Goreng in prawns and one Chicken Stroganoff. The prawns in the Nasi Goreng smelled too much and I would've preferred them to have a subtler taste. The spices were nice though. The Chicken Stroganoff was a big disappointment. While it wasn't a bad tasting dish by itself, a stroganoff is supposed to be in white sauce while this one was in brown!

We've had okayish food in the past here as well. We'd tried the steak and a medium rare was given to us well done. Also, they gave the beef in cubes instead of a whole steak, which really pisses me off! We came here again because not every place excels in making steak and so we decided to give it a second shot. The food tastes quite nice, I admit. But if you're looking for authenticity, this is not the right place.

Menu Variety

The serve Indian, Oriental (not just Chinese, which is nice) and Continental. The listing is not confusingly comprehensive, which most people will like. I love options though. I remember an ad where a man (or was it a woman?) goes to a cafe to get some coffee, and then gets barraged by options of black / with milk, caffeinated / decaf, brazillian / indian, blah blah. And then the man (or woman) gets angry and walks off or something (don't remember the whole commercial). So when I saw that ad, all I thought was "I'd love to have so many options! I'll customize my coffee exactly the way I want!" Of course, that sentiment is not reflected by many others, so Kurry Leaf's menu seems like a good balance. You can see part of their menu on burrp as well.

Service

Waiters are nice and helpful with ordering. Nothing exceptional about them, but they know how to serve you well.

Ambiance

On a pleasant evening, I love sitting on the outdoor section here. Because on the other side of the road are wonderfully lit trees and a usually traffic free road. Inside, the ambiance is about average. If you like watching TV, you can sit and watch some thing and also ask for the remote if you want!

Value for money

This place doesn't serve any drinks and so a meal for two costed Rs. 600, which is kinda fair.

Location

Like Classic Chinese, it's quite close to Andheri station, and next to St. Blaise Church. If you live in Andheri west and cross Amboli every day, you can stop by on your way home. Or maybe visit after Sunday mass?

And in conclusion...

If you're not finicky about the authenticity of food, this is not a bad place to go to. The food is tasty and the price is right!
