Sunny's Dhaba
Burrp page: Not in Mumbai, so not burrp page
Place: Some 8 kms from Lonavala, towards the expressway to Pune
Food
This place is all about the hype. The food is good, yes, but not great like it's made out to be. The chicken is soft and tender, but the masalas (we tried the tandoori and the butter chicken) don't make my taste buds go crazy. What I did like here was the sweet lassi, sarson ka saag and the garlic butter naan. Oh and if you are a dhaba style place, shouldn't you be putting dollops of butter on top of everything??? Missing!
Menu variety
Dhaba menu. Indian food. Lassi, chaas and very few desserts. The only options we had were rasagullas (not made by them, bought from Haldiram) and ice creams (again, bought). Lot of food to try from though.
Service
Well they got this dhaba style! Bad service, waiter doesn't want to even look at you at times! He told us to give the entire order (drinks, starters, main course) at one time because otherwise we'd have to wait. So we did, and we started getting all our courses at once. Stupid.
Ambiance
Outdoor ambiance. Nice to be in a place like this in Lonavala. However, it seemed a little too cramped for me. Also, they could've had more khatiyas / gaddas and lesser plastic chairs.
Value for money
No! The place is expensive (for non-Mumbai standards) with a bill for 9 people coming to around Rs. 3500 with only 2 pegs of whiskey in drinks. For that kind of money, I want better service and definitely better food.
Location
Very far away from Lonavala. You have to cross the toll naka as well. Pointless. Would've rather saved time and eaten in Lonavala.
And in conclusion...
Don't go there. I insist.
